CHAPADA DOS GUIMARÃES
The town of Chapada do Guimaraes is situated on a high-plateau on 800 m about sea leavel and was founded in 1750 by the family of the Guimaraes. As there is a mild climate and and the temperatures not so hot as in Cuiaba, a lot of “Cuiabanos” have there their own vaccation-flat and will go up there on weekends. In Chapada do Guimaraes there is also the geographical centre of South America and from this point you have a beautiful view, when the wheater is clear more than 100km until Cuiaba. There you will also find a small Nationalpark from where the sight to the “bridal veil” - waterfall (79m free fall) is fantastic. |
